Today I would like to share with you a topic that is very near and dear to my heart: the subject of passion.  We will look at passion in regard to fulfilling and living the life we were destined to live.

In Webster’s dictionary, the word passion is defined as any powerful or compelling emotion or feeling. Generally we hear of the word passion in regards to feelings of love and/or hate, but today we will look at the word passion through the eyes of purpose.

Each of us was created for a particular purpose and destiny. Our willingness to embrace passion opens the windows of understanding to our destiny and purpose.

The Holy Scriptures provide numerous examples of committed people whose passion for purpose drove them to seek out and obtain what they were created to do. In the Hebrew Scripture we are introduced to a young woman of humble beginning named Esther. Esther was a beautiful young woman who stood alone to save her people in spite of great danger. Esther's words, "If I perish, then I perish" epitomize her passion to carry out her life purpose. Esther’s passion saved her people.

Like Esther, there are times in my life where my passion to allow God to use me led me into dangerous or uncomfortable environments. I stand before you as a demonstration of the power and presence of God, who safely guided me to render spiritual services. Today I renounce fear, because I know that God will prevail.

It is my personal relationship with my God that allows me to continue to be passionate about my ministry. My understanding of my oneness allows my passion to reach deeper depths and higher heights to obtain God’s purpose for me.

This passion continues to open my spiritual eye toward things of this world. I am convinced that God has set me aside to be a shining light to be used for divine purpose.

Today I pledge my life to the spiritual presence of God within me. I am passionate about my life. What I bring to this ministry is my ability to say, “Yes, send me Lord. Yes, let your light and presence shine in through and all around me as I do this work. For I know that my strength comes from you, and all I need to do is get my ego out of the way.”

In closing: may we all find our one true purpose.

And so it is!
